Pool Equipment Leak Repair in Las Vegas. Stop the Drip at the Pad

When your Las Vegas pool equipment is dripping, hissing, or losing pressure, the leak is almost certainly somewhere on the equipment pad. Pumps, filters, heaters, valves, salt cells, and the plumbing connecting them are the most accessible category of pool leak repair. But they're also the easiest to neglect. Small drips at the equipment pad can run for months before owners notice, wasting water, damaging equipment, and accelerating calcium-related failures.

We bring detection AND repair tools to every Las Vegas equipment pad job. Most equipment leak repairs are completed in 30 minutes to 3 hours, same-visit.

Las Vegas Equipment-Pad Failure Patterns

Las Vegas equipment pads fail in characteristic ways tied to local conditions and equipment age.

Calcium-driven equipment failures. Las Vegas Valley water is among the hardest in the western US. Calcium scale builds up aggressively inside pumps, filters, heaters, and salt cells. Narrowing flow channels, raising operating pressures, and stressing every connection point. Calcium-induced failures are the most common Las Vegas equipment leak category we see across all neighborhoods.

Pump shaft seal failures. Pool pump shaft seals have predictable service lives. Typically 5-10 years depending on water chemistry and runtime. Las Vegas year-round operation accelerates wear. Replacement is same-visit on most pump models. We work all major brands (Pentair, Hayward, Jandy, Sta-Rite, Polaris, Aqua-Flo).

Heat-driven pad plumbing failures. Extreme Las Vegas summer temperatures (110°F+ on equipment pads in direct sun) cycle plumbing through dramatic thermal expansion. PVC unions, valves, and connections fail at predictable points after years of cycling. Most are quick same-visit replacements.

Filter belly band O-ring failures. Cartridge filters develop leaks at the belly band. Typically O-ring failure or seating issues from accumulated calcium buildup. Replacement involves cleaning the seating groove, installing a new O-ring, and reseating. Same-visit repair.

Multi-port valve gasket replacement. The spider gasket in multi-port valves serving DE and sand filters has a service life and eventually fails. Symptoms: water bypassing between ports, valve drift between settings, water leaking from valve body. Spider gasket replacement is typically same-visit.

Salt cell housing connection failures. Salt chlorine generators have plumbing connections at the cell housing that fail through O-ring degradation, calcium buildup at unions, and connection loosening from cell removal/cleaning over time. Most repairs are quick O-ring or union replacements.

Pad plumbing union work. PVC unions on Las Vegas equipment pads fail from accumulated thermal cycling, calcium scale at threads, and over-tightening from previous service work. Most unions are 5-minute replacements once we see them.

Heater plumbing connection repairs. Connections in and out of pool heaters fail from corrosion, scale, and heat cycling. The heater itself rarely leaks; the plumbing around it is the usual suspect.

Pool/spa combo equipment work. Many Las Vegas equipment pads serve both pool and spa systems, with shared and dedicated plumbing. Repair work often involves both circulation paths.

Our Las Vegas Equipment Repair Process

We start the system, walk the equipment pad with eyes and ears, flag every drip, hiss, and weeping seal, then quote the full repair scope. Most equipment repairs are same-visit. Process detail: Pool Equipment Leak Repair.

Las Vegas Equipment Repair FAQ

My Las Vegas pool pump is leaking. Do I need a new pump?

Almost never. Most pump leaks are shaft seal, volute O-ring, or basket lid O-ring failures. All inexpensive same-visit repairs. Pump replacement is only necessary for cracked volutes, severely damaged motors, or genuine end-of-life equipment.

My Las Vegas filter is leaking water from the side. Can you fix it?

Yes. Side leaks on cartridge filters are usually belly-band O-ring failures. A clean and gasket replacement fixes it same-visit. DE and sand filters have similar gasket-and-fitting points we know how to address.

Why is air getting into my Las Vegas pool from the returns?

Air in the system means a suction-side leak. Somewhere between the pool and the pump impeller. Common culprits are pump basket lid O-rings, suction-side unions, valves, or a failing pump shaft seal.

Do you work on all pool equipment brands in Las Vegas?

Yes. Pentair, Hayward, Jandy, Sta-Rite, Polaris, Aqua-Flo, Waterway, and others. We carry common parts for major brands.

Can you replace equipment if it's not worth repairing?

Yes. Equipment replacement and upgrades (including variable-speed pump conversions where applicable) are part of our work. We give honest repair-vs-replace assessments.
